Rally at the Alley is more than a networking event. It is a moment where our industry comes together to do what it does best: show up for one another.
Each year, EDPA Northeast hosts Rally at the Alley to raise funds in support of an industry professional facing unexpected hardship. It’s an evening built around community, generosity, and the belief that no one in this industry should have to face life’s toughest challenges alone.
For 2026, we are honored to share the story of our recipient, Blaike Rathbun, an emerging leader whose resilience reflects the very spirit of our community.
Meet Our 2026 Recipient: Blaike’s Story
Blaike joined the experiential industry in May 2023 as an Account Manager at bematrix and quickly stood out through her energy and professionalism. In less than two years, she earned a promotion to Account Executive, a major milestone in her growing career. She is also a member of the EDPA Future Leaders Class of 2024 and has been actively involved in industry and chapter events.
Just two months after her promotion, everything changed.
One morning at 6:00 AM, while out for a run in Philadelphia and crossing in a marked crosswalk, Blaike was struck by a car that ran a red light at an estimated 50 miles per hour. The driver never stopped.
She was hit on her left side, suffering severe ligament damage, a concussion, and sudden loss of vision while being transported to the hospital. Doctors later performed reconstructive knee surgery, reattaching her MCL and using donor tissue to rebuild ligaments that could not be repaired.
Blaike spent a week in the hospital before her vision began to return. Today, she is back to work while still spending much of each day in physical and neurological therapy. She relies on crutches and continues daily rehabilitation to rebuild strength and coordination.
Before the accident, Blaike was training for a marathon. Now, she is working toward something far more basic, the ability to walk and eventually run again.
Her sister put her own life on hold to move in and help care for her during the early stages of recovery, a testament to the close-knit support system helping her navigate this journey.
Alongside the physical trauma has come a significant financial burden, with mounting medical bills and lost income.
Rally at the Alley gives our industry the opportunity to rally around one of its rising leaders - helping ease the strain of recovery and reminding Blaike that she is not facing this journey alone.
